We had to drop an investigator because she stopped progressing. then the other missionaries had a baptism on saturday. and the church ran out of water, the engine from the tank broke, so we got some hoses and i had to cyphine (?) the water into the font. that was a good time. it was delayed 2 hours though. nothing else really this week. We had hamburgers for lunch. that was nice.

Good week. On wednesday we went on splits and I was with Elder Connolly for the day. we had to go to Central to pay some bills so the day wasn´t too effective. We also bought churros, those were good. Friday we woke up to go clean the church for the baptism, that took all morning. Then at night, we taught the family that is the very last house in our zone. It takes 59 minutes
to walk home. solid. Saturday, we went to finish cleaning and setting up for the baptism.I wasn´t feeling to hot that day either, i think i was dehydrated. We then got to the church at 5:20 for the service. Once they showed up, we changed and took some pics. After that his wife pulled me aside and told me that he has a bad heart and that he is super nervous so she wanted me to talk to him and calm him down. So I grabbed my comp and we told him everything that he will need to know. Once it was time, we had to wait an extra 5 minutes because his brother in law was close to getting there. Once he arrived, we stepped into the font, and he stopped on the last step and paused for about 2 minutes. He was shaking and had his eyes closed. Elder Echeverria offered a prayer and we were golden. I was nervous because I didn´t want to mess up the words, but I nailed it. Then when I started dunking him, he tensed up and wouldn´t let me. I saw his wife and she was super worried, then after I helped him up he was super disoriented. He didn´t know what was going on and he thought we were done. We came to the conclusion that after the prayer, he would crouch down and then I would dunk him. So the second time, once I started dunking him, I could feel him start to tense up, but I just put him under. Once again he was super confused after. But his wife and Bro in law were there to make sure everything was good. Durnig his testimony he talked about how paranoid he gets around water, and how he couldn´t even shower by himself. But then he said, after the missionaries came and after he started reading the book of mormon, everthing started becoming better. After the first attempt, In my broken spanish im pretty sure I told him the only thing you need to worry about is to feel the spirit¨ I think that helped. Then after we had sandwiches and soda, then everybody left and we cleaned the church again. It was a great day! It can be hard out here, but I know that days like that day are the reasons i am out here, to see people grow closer to god and become strong in the church. It´s awesome.

Pretty solid week. Didnt do too much. On Wednesday I destroyed my head on a pole and I thought I was going to die. We broke out the Uno cards this week too and played that on P Day. We went to the stake center and played basketball with a bunch of the Elder. Monday was some sort of Holiday here so everything was closed and we weren´t able to email. then we found out that the internet place changed to a dog food store, so we had to find a new place to go. its a little further, but on the plus side, my drop box works now. We finished all the lessons with Hermano Ruiz Moreno, his baptism is THIS SATURDAY! pretty excited.

Monday i saw a guy crash into a car with his bullet bike. Tuesday I went on splits with the zl. that was alright. we taught a lesson with two ladies that were breastfeeding at the same time. that sucked. i was glad to go home on wednesday. my area is way better. We started playing basketball in the mornings and my companion loves it. its way better than soccer. on sunday it was the primary program. I felt at home, because i can never understand anything that happens anyway. the first thing that happend in the program, a little girl was holding her sign upside down. so it said Familias Son Eternal, but eternal was upside down. everybody was laughing and she felt bad. Also this week i found out how awesome DandC is. ive never read it before and im cruising through it right now. I love it. Not too much more this week. Ruis Moreno family is good. she is trying to quit smoking right now. his baptism is in two weeks.

This week was slow. We had Stake conference this weekend. that is a two day adventure. there were three different sessions and the mission president came down for it. We had to go to central 4 times this week and its starting to suck. Especially because its not a weird thing for women to breastfeed in public. so we get on the bus and about 50% of the time somebody is breastfeeding. thats always a good time [thumbs down (fart noise)]
Idk if i told you but our last devotional was Chad Lewis. that was cool. and drop box doesnt work at the place we go so i cant upload pictures
also today is my one month mark and yesterday was my half birthday.

Tuesday: We taught the Ruis Moreno family and I extended the invitation for baptism, which they accepted. First saturday in december!
Wednesday: We were sitting in a lesson around 9 and the wind started going crazy. We gave them a Restoration pamphlet and got out of there. When we got home we were absolutely covered in dirt. It was nasty.
Thursday: My comp was super tired and worn out from the week and planning so we had a relax day and didn´t do too much in the night.
Friday: We finished a lesson and were walking too the bus and my comp said it was about to start coming down. He was right, the rain was crazier than the wind. After about 10 minutes I just accepted it and didn´t care. We were soaked though.
Saturday: Rained all day.
Sunday: Fast Sunday. Didn´t understand much in church again.
We had milinesa 4 times this week. Not a bad thing

Not much time. What a week. Said goodbye to everybody on Sunday night. That was hard. Made so many good friends in the MTC. (Shout out to my homies)
comp lost his passport in the airport so we missed our flight to atlanta and he had to go back to the mtc, but i caught up in atlanta. flights were long but i slept a lot. got to the mission home and met the Pres. he is a good guy. slept in a bed and breakfast with everybody. woke up and met our comps. mine is Elder Echeverria. he is from Peru. its his last 12 weeks. the language barrier is real. im serving in Santiago Central. the eastish side. our area is 423 city blocks and we live on the outskirts. so there is a lot of walking. we walk for 45 minutes just to get to the middle of our area, and the streets suck. we just walk on loose gravle snt fun. but we taught this family their first lesson, and they will definitely get baptized. Yay! I have no idea what is going on for a good 90% of the time. luckily we live with two americans so i can still hold conversations with people and one of the elders translates for me what my comp says.
its super duper hot here. everybody owns a baddae (Not sure how to spell it) that is an interesting experience everytime. there are homeless dogs everywhere. but they are nice. their only goal is to find shade and stay alive. and also, you dont knock on doors here, you clap and wait for them to come out. oh, and there is no such thing as dinner in our mission. we just dont eat dinner, yet somehow all the missionaries gain weight? there is also a walmart here, it is called ChangoMas. for pday today we went to the central part of the city. it was crazy. but i bought a sombrerro because my nose got super sunburn already.
like i said not too much time, it is hard out here adjusting, but i love it so far. this week has been crazy, and my letter doesn´t justify it. hopefully what i said made sense, and sorry for the poor punctuation.
sorry i don´t have time to respond to personal emails.
also, i cant see the pictures i sent so hopefully they make sense.

Nothing too amazing has happened here this week, the devotional this week was from Larry Lawrence of the 70, it is also Bria Lawrence's grandpa. that was cool. I saw and talked to her at dinner that day. other than that, just getting everything ready to go for Monday. Like I said nothing too amazing. on the plus side we find out that we will get another set of flight plans in Argentina, so we will fly to Salta instead of bus there. that goes from 20+ hours to 2. I'll take that.

The MTC is alright. Everyday is the same. We just sit in class and lear Spanish and the gospel. We had a good devotional on Sunday. Vai Sikahema came and gave a good message about opening up and talking to everybody you meet. It was cool hearing from him. Last P-Day my companion was playing volleyball and some samoan guy spiked it and dislocated my comps thumb. that was cool. the bone was sticking out of his finger, so the rest of P-Day was spent at the ER which was kind of unfortuante because I was on fire during basketball. Other than that nothing too exciting. We got our flight plans today. We fly to Atlanta then down to Buenos Aires. After that, they bus us up to Salta. That is going to be at least a 20+ hour bus ride.... I'm so excited for that....

This week was kinda boring. just the same thing every day. wake up early, sit in class for 10 hours, go home. But on Wednesday we did move up to the Main MTC and it has been kinda fun seeing more people that I recognize, and exploring the new campus. Monday night we went to the pillow room. just a room full of extra pillows. on your last service day you get to go in and jump around. its basically a giant ball pit for adults. its probably how i imagine heaven to be like. its a good time. and then tuesday night, our last night on west campus we put all of our mattresses in the living room and had wrestle mania! great times. that is basically all i have for this week though.

My week was good! Classes all day every day. The Spanish is as good as I anticipated it to be. Yesterday our guest speaker at the devotional was Elder M. Russell Ballard. that was cool. we got to hear from two apostles in back to back weeks. His wasnt as good to me as Richard G. Scotts was last week, but it was still great. a couple of the good things he said were, "Just get up and do the best you can every single day of your mission and let the powers of heaven fall upon you." and "Enjoy being a missionary. Do the best you can. But prepare to roll up your sleeves and carry this kingdom."

Jordan sent a few short emails this week.
First week was awesome. The MTC is sick. My district is so close already. We have had a good and hard time learning the language and the gospel. Elder Richard G. Scott came yesterday and talked to the missionaries in a devotional and it was fantastic. The best quote he gave was "Don't rush through the opportunity to talk to your heavenly father." and "He knows who you are, he knows what you need, and he knows what you can become." Everything is good here on the west side of the MTC. they are moving us back to main campus on Oct. 1st. Running out of time. Ill have more next week. Love you!
elder harris from st g. get along great. 2 others going to salta. elder richard g scott came yesterday and spoke.. west mtc is awesome. main is all inside but west is outside. mealsaregood and organized. we stay at west. class is good and hermano kent is cool.
